Calling all Oregon WinemakersThe PORTLAND INDIE WINE FESTIVAL is the signature event of the Indie Wine Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and sustaining the art of craft winemaking. The festival is the annual showcase of Oregon's top boutique wines, and we're now accepting entries for the 2010 event. Forty wineries will be selected to participate in the May 8, 2010 festival through a one-day judging competition to be held March 15th. Each wine submitted for consideration will go through a blind tasting by a panel of 10 judges, comprised of nationally acclaimed media, wine buyers and winemakers. The 40 top scoring wineries will be featured at the festival in May. Entry Rules
An official entry is two bottles each 750ml (or 4 bottles 375ml for wines not bottled in 750ml) of up to five different wines for consideration. Single grape varieties, blends, fortified, sparking and dessert wines are eligible to enter. No fruit wines please. Entry Deadline is March 2, 2010 at 5:30pm. The cost is $75 for the first wine entry and $40 for each additional wine entry. Late Entries will be charged $100 for the first wine and $60 for each additional wine entry. No wines will be accepted after March 5th. PLEASE NOTE: An additional participant fee of $500 will be charged to each of the selected wineries for their booth space and event promotions for the festival.
